With the new year comes both new responsiblities and changes across the broad. Come ready to grow, learn, and change. Write your questions and turn them in by the Wednesday before on the 4th. The Forum will be closed meetings for City of Refuge teens and preteens only. This is not a time to play but to fix the holes in our armor. You have a job to do in 2012. Are you ready?

Thanks to the Blessings of having great young adults from Morris College in our City of Refuge Family we have a strong young fired up group of leaders to lead our pre-teens and teens into a new direction of service.
What can we do when we're out of school? Follow the life of Christ. The youth department has a year long assignment to become the follows of the Bible. School breaks will give us the opprotunity to go on Service Sabbaticals. We will be serving the community while learning about Jesus. We will be living WWJD. Granted this assignment cost money so we're going to need your help. Any suggestions email Sister Sybil at: youth@cityofrefugeministry.com
Silver Ring Thing Time
The Silver Ring Thing Bible study and life dedication is in full effect again. Those that haven't been baptized will have the opprotunity in February. Then that special day will come. We will be blessed to witness our 2nd annual SRT ceremony. Where the inductees get to pledge their love and faithfulness to God and their future spouses. They pledge to keep their bodies pure as temples of our Lord until marriage as the church pledges to love, support and prayer for them daily.
Please God's given us all a job and a different part of His Vision. So don't just come wanting to blinding follow. Please come with your own ideals and desire to serve the whole of God's body. You'd be amazed on how great God can move if we listen and grow together.
In 2012 the Christian Prom is stepping into the level of The Christian Gala and this Gala will definitely be a step up. Church leaders will be selling tickets to share the evening of elegance with them. Join our Pastors Johnny and Barbara Davis at the Ruby table, Minister Jerry and Victoria Davis at the Sapphire table, Deacon Joe and Sybil Highdale at the Diamond Table, or enjoy your evening with Minister Anderson, Deaconess Davis, Sister Valerie, Sister Joi, or Minister Ford and his lovely new bride at their jeweled table. When we get to heaven we'll trade our crosses for crowns, but this night we honor the fact that you are the most precious jewel fit only for the Ultimate King! Emeralds, Topazes, Garnets, Pearls, Amethysts, come sit at your table and fellowship in love and joy at the City of Refuge Outreach Ministry First Annual Christian Gala!
Our Guest Speaker Rev. Willie A. Wright of New Bethel Baptist presented a wonderful message to the grads and the rest of us! Seeing our first group of Princess of God's Kingdom being crowned was such and blessing. Of course we were blessed with great company, visitors from several churches. I was touched to be allowed to celebrate nine graduates this year, three from middle school, one from high school, and five college graduates with both bachelors and masters.
CHRISTIAN PROM
We had our first annual Christian Prom last year. We put away the old selves and revealed the new in Christ. We have an option to worldly enjoyments. The Christian Prom isn't just for the young, but the young at heart. We all have accomplished goals this year and it's time come together and acknowledge this stage as we move on to the next! The Christian Prom is schedule for April 30, 2011 if you didn't come this year you'll miss something great. It will be even bigger and better. Just ask the young adults if they're coming back? It's not like the world. We'll enjoy miming, poetry, singing, and a Word from God through Rev. Wllie Wright Jr. of New Bethel Baptist, food will be catered by M & M Caterers, prizes, fellowship, all in the grace of God!
