Our mission is to Enrich, Educate, and Empower our community through the love of God.
Our Pastors are moving to the next spiritual level so we need to be too.
If 2012 is going to be the same as 2011. Same thing different channel there was no reason to see 2012. We had change last year but why change if we're not going to move up and out of the way for the younger, stronger, more excited soldiers ready to fight the good fight? When Pastor Barbara Davis said she calling us to all move up to the next level we answered her as we answered God. Our answer was "YES". We are blessed to announce our beloved Minster of Music is now a licensed minister. We are honored to see Minister Jerry Davis and his lovely wife Victoria move up to the next level. We were also honored to share the joy of Deacon Joe Highdale, and Deaconess Marie Davis move into the Deacon position with the prayers, love, and support of their families. Not only have these few answered the call to move up but Minister Dolores White, Minister Joanne Anderson, and Sister Sybil Davis-Highdale have also answered that this will be a mighty year of preparation for their position change, but have also said, "we will not be satisfied in their current spiritual level but we're striving to get even closer to God as we become better servants to Him." How about you? It's time for the saints to step up and be counted among the living. please increase your study, prayer, fasting, and serving, because God is calling us all to step up.
is honored to announce the two blessed people Minister Antwon Ford and Sister Desiree Edwards became ONE wonderfully anointed in God December 31,2011. This union was officated by a mighty pastorial one, Pastors Johnny and Barbara Davis. Though they know the world will rised against them they are secure and comforted by the fact that God is the head of their lives and He protects and guides them. We love you both!

in elementary, middle, high school, and College!!!
These were just the ones in service October 30th and not all our honories.City of Refuge church celebrates education because serving God does NOT mean being ingorant! In order to serve God to the fullest you must be willing to learn and grow.
Halleluiah Night was a chance to party and fellowship with other Christians without inviting that enemy of God in. Children enjoyed games, food, fellowship and lots of candy outside and in the fellowship hall. Meanwhile the teens were in the sanuary having an "Open Mic Night". There CJ opened with prayer, and TJ got the halleluiah praise going. Young people talked, sang, enjoyed poetry and rap, they even danced and laught. We all learned a little something about God and each other. I learned that there's a difference between good candy and wack candy. Sorry guys. Some videos of the teen's halleluiah are on the "See that the Lord is Good" page.
We've started a new poetry ministry called "Vision" which is coming into bloom. We are about to jump into this season of giving by adding a new ministry. COR will be sharing what we have with the homeless. If you can help us help them please come share God's love. We will be feeding, ministering, and blessing the homeless of Sumter December 3rd. Not only are we feeding their hearts and ears with God's word, but we'll be feeding their bellies. We are now gathering supplies for shoe box blessings for them as well. We're adding tooth brushes, soap, wash cloths, etc. so that they can take care of their everyday needs. Our job as Christians is the feed the hungry, cloth the naked, and house the homeless. Will you help us?
Congratulations to Our Graduates!!!
On Friday May 6th we were honored to have Sister Faulkner graduate with an associates from Central Carolina Technical College. Followed by Saturday the seventh graduation of Minister Antwon Ford and Sister Desiree Edwards from Morris College with their Bachelor degrees. Please do not over look Sister Victoria Davis' graduation from USC December with her Masters. We are proud of all our graduates and there are more to come!
